Kristina Law

Kristina (K) is an experienced former Sweden-trained dentist. During her training and clinical days in Sweden, she developed a keen interest in temporomandibular disorders and their connection to breathing, posture, parafunctional activities (clenching and grinding) and the connection to sleep.

Upon her relocation to Melbourne and much because of her own young family’s struggle with airway issues and oral dysfunction, Kristina furthered her theoretical and clinical skills in this niche by studying Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OMT) through both Australian and US based academies.

Always seeking even better clinical outcomes, Kristina expanded her professional horizon by studying GOPex training and Up-lock therapy. GOPex addresses the link between whole body posture, oral posture and breathing while Up-lock training utilises an oral appliance (trainer) to create a suction cup effect which “holds” the tongue in its correct resting position.

Also incorporated in her clinical approach is a passion for restoring balanced posture and to normalise breathing. Her approach to breathing has been heavily influenced by Roger L. Price, an Australian Pioneer of Functional Airway Management, who thoroughly understands that there is no such thing as “normal” breathing. Breathing has, in fact, to be appropriate to the demands of the body, and the body has the ability to regulate this supply and demand provided we allow it too.

With her unique experience and skill-set, Kristina founded the BreatheALIGN program (an Australian first) and works collaboratively with our TMJ Therapists (Physios and Osteos), our TMJ / Sleep Dentists and our GP specialising in Muscle Relaxant Injection Therapy (MRIT).

Kristina values a high standard of personalised care. Being multilingual and multicultural herself, she enjoys working with clients of all ages and backgrounds.
