Joshua has a special interest in the management of jaw (TMJ), facial pain, headache, and neck-related conditions, influenced by personal exposure to temporomandibular disorder (TMD) within his family. This has driven his commitment to understanding and managing these often complex and poorly addressed conditions.
Joshua joined the Melbourne TMJ & Facial Pain Centre to pursue advanced specialised training in temporomandibular and craniofacial pain conditions. He has undertaken extensive training in The Goralsky Craniomandibular Method™ (GCMM), working closely with the clinical Director to refine his clinical reasoning, hands-on skills, and patient education approach.
Joshua graduated with a Doctor of Physiotherapy from Monash University and also completed a Bachelor of Science from the University of Melbourne, majoring in Anatomy and Neuroscience. This academic background underpins his strong understanding of pain mechanisms, neuromuscular control, and the close relationship between the jaw, neck, and facial structures.
He takes a structured and thorough approach to care, with a strong focus on identifying contributing factors rather than treating symptoms alone. As part of his clinical approach, Joshua values clear explanation and patient education, and works closely with patients to help them understand their condition and actively participate in their recovery.
As a multilingual clinician, he is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Korean, allowing him to communicate comfortably with patients from diverse backgrounds.
Outside of physiotherapy, Joshua enjoys strength training, staying active, and continuing to expand his knowledge in health, movement, and performance
